Life Passages

Baptisms

Baptisms are normally scheduled on the 2nd or 4th Sunday of the month or any Saturday. Contact the church office to make arrangements.

On the one year anniversary of a child's baptism, we present the child with a Faith Chest. Faith Chests are made by members of the church and provide a receptacle in which a record of their baptism and a history of their Christian life can be stored.

Weddings

We at First Lutheran Church wish you a joyous wedding day and a joy-filled marriage. We look forward to helping you make your wedding as personal and special as can be. The celebration of marriage is a service of worship during which the people of God gather to give thanks and share the joy as the couple begins a new and unique relationship in their lives. The marriage ceremony bears witness to a couple’s mutual faith and represents the values they regard as important for their future life together.

In order to assist you in planning your wedding in accordance with scripture, wedding etiquette and our church policies, a wedding coordinator is a part of every wedding held at First Lutheran Church. Contact the church office to receive a copy of our wedding handbook, which includes policies, planning sheets and other important information.

Funerals

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the source of all mercy and the God of all consolation. He comforts us in all our sorrows so that we can comfort others in their sorrows with the consolation we ourselves have received from God." II Corinthians 1:3-4

Because we have been baptized into the death and resurrection of Christ, we share abundant hope in the “communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.” Funerals at First Lutheran Church are planned in conjunction with the funeral director, family and relatives of the deceased, and the officiating First Lutheran pastor.
